have you read this fic? whofic.com/viewsto… worth it entirely for the gallifreyan on post-its!
OH MY GOD. You just became the first person in history to succeed in getting me to read a Doctor/Master fic.
i hate you. get out of my face. this one is fine, I GUESS, but it doesn’t offer anything particularly thoughtful about Gallifreyan linguistics besides pictures and all the fics i’ve recced you have cool details about Gallifreyan society. I can’t believe you’ll read Doctor/Master sent by random tumblr people but you won’t read the AU where Donna comes back and saves the universe (and the Time Lords) while the Doctor and the Master play reality chess in the TARDIS gameroom which I’ve recced to you about TEN THOUSAND TIMES.
also, I had the idea that the original (still the formal?) form of Gallifreyan was three-dimensional, like mobiles that were hung and moved and the movement was another aspect of the meaning (because obviously Gallifreyan is a highly time-sensitive, multi-dimensional language.) As writing became popularized, they adapted ways to mark the movement on a two-dimensional surface (like Hebrew vowel marks) and/or, just had this idea, attached specific importance to the order in which the message was written, since, as time-sensitive beings, they would be able to tell.
